I'm a satirist living in New Jersey. I'm active in my synagogue and have been performing as Billy Ray Sheet for about 10 years.

I can't say I actually remember every detail of the events that happened in "The Fast Bris." However, I have indeed been circumcised and can prove it: I have the certificate in a file cabinet in my home office.

How Billy Ray Sheet Got Started

I used to write country songs for my own amusement, hence the Nashvillesque pseudonym. About 10 years ago I composed a ballad for Purim that parallels the megillah reading. I performed this in shul during breaks in the reading as a way to keep the young people engaged. (I still perform it every year.) More recently I composed and performed some song parodies, including "Manischewitzville," for a synagogue fund-raiser. When YouTube came along, video became the obvious way to distribute the songs. Since the goal was and is to raise funds for my shul, I started putting the videos on Revver.com.

Suggestions and Pictures Are Welcome

I'm open to suggestions for Jewish holidays or traditions to make into videos. If you can think of a well-known song to satirize, so much the better.

I'm also looking for pictures of people celebrating Jewish holidays and events. Send me a photo, and you might see it in a future video!
